Last week was full of upsets but it was also full of a ton of huge performances across the sport. There were two players who stood out above the rest with huge weeks.

It is Monday which means it is time to hand out another set of the Busting Brackets Player of the Week awards. Last week was one of the crazier weeks we had seen in the sport for quite a long time. 4 of the top 5 teams lost in a 48 hour span and the majority of the top 25 lost one or both games they played last week.

In addition to that there were some players who had some gigantic individual performances last week. Β As always, two players stood out above the rest of the field and this week the two winners had some huge results and they were the clear winners.

In the mid-major ranks, we are going to go to the Southland Conference for the first time ever. The player who earned this award had one of the better two-game stretches over the last two seasons since I have been doing this. However, given the player that had that week, it won’t be surprising if he does it again given how much his team relies on him for offense.

In the Power 5 ranks, there is another new player from the ACC who has never won the award before but had a fantastic week. It was hard to pick him over some of the other performances but the overall body of work over both games is what earned the recognition. The mid major player is up first.
