8. Creighton (23-8)

You could say things are going relatively well for Creighton. The Bluejays have recent wins over both Connecticut and Marquette and finished the regular season in great shape for the postseason. The combination of Ryan Kalkbrenner and Baylor Scheierman continues to put up plenty of production, and the Bluejays kept winning in this final regular week.

There was just one last game on the agenda, as Creighton avenged a late December home loss to Villanova by winning 69-67 on the road. Creighton grabbed a big lead early and held on throughout a furious Wildcats comeback, getting 18 points and 8 rebounds from Scheierman and a 17-point, 6-rebound day from Trey Alexander.

The three players we’ve named already were all on last season’s Elite Eight run. This team has veteran talent that knows how to win games, and you can bet that these Bluejays will be ready for whatever March Madness throws at them. Of course there’s still the Big East Tournament in New York and it’ll be interesting to see how this team fares in potential rematches with Connecticut or Marquette.
