After a day of huge upsets, the NCAA Basketball schedule lightens up today. Only two ranked teams in action and there is not many games that can result in chaos.

Even though the schedule was very conducive for the ranked teams to roll to the weekend without a loss on the resume College Basketball had other plans. There were huge upsets last night. Northwestern who was ranked because of their win over Purdue will no longer be ranked as they dropped a home game to 3-9 Chicago State. Yes, that Chicago State that won 20 games total over 6 years. The Cougars had never beat a ranked team and they had never beat Northwestern.

If that wasn’t enough, UNLV blew out Creighton. The Rebels were able to get whatever they want at the rim and made a bunch of threes. Creighton didn’t get what they wanted and didn’t make threes. It was a very odd night in Vegas. Just for context UNLV has already lost to Southern and LMU at home and was 3-4 with some bad losses heading into the matchup with Creighton. Arkansas State blew out Louisville and that may be the end of the Kenny Payne era in Louisville. What does tonight have for us.

Yesterday I went 16-7 in my picks. That brings my 38 day total to 1,137-417 overall. There is not much on the schedule for today. There are two ranked teams in action. Those games are sandwiched in between games that are going to have very lopsided scores. Nothing in this sport is a sure thing but there does not appear to be to many games today that have upset potential. Picks for day 39 December 14, 2023, are below.

Wisconsin over Jacksonville State

Tulane over Furman

Charleston over The Citadel

Florida over East Carolina

Marquette over St Thomas

Drake over Grambling

Lamar over Louisiana Monroe

That’s it that’s the schedule for today. The best game out of this schedule is Tulane and Furman. The Green Wave look to bounce back from getting hammered by Mississippi State over the weekend. Furman is solid team with a lot of talent who stays in every game. East Carolina and Florida is the game that has the greatest potential for an upset today and it is unlikely to happen. The Pirates are more talented than they have been in years past, but they are not good enough to beat Florida. Enjoy the games and see you tomorrow.
