13. Auburn Tigers

Despite losing to Yale in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers had a successful past season. They were incredibly frontcourt heavy, with the top three scorers all being forwards. Only one is gone in Jaylin Williams, who averaged 12.4 ppg and 4.4 rpg as an underrated all-around piece.

The person who is back is Johni Broome, one of the best players in all of NCAA Basketball. He led Auburn with 16.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg and over two blocks a game. Chad Baker-Mazara proved to be one of the more impactful JUCO transfers in the country, scoring 10 ppg on 42% shooting from deep.

The big storyline to watch is the revamped backcourt. Most of the guards from last season are gone, including Aden Holloway and KD Johnson. In comes JP Pegues, who led Furman with 18.4 ppg and 4.8 apg last season. Miles Kelly led Georgia Tech with 13.9 ppg, while Tahaad Pettiford is the next 5-star guard prospect to join the program.

With Denver Jones, Chaney Johnson, and Chris Moore back as veteran guard/wings, Auburn should have plenty of depth. Will one of the guards emerge this time to balance out the offense? That’s the big question determining their ceiling, as the frontcourt gives them a high floor.
