16. BYU Cougars - 10-1
Coming off the loss to rival Utah, BYU had a couple of home games against inferior opponents this past week. The first game was against Denver, a game that was never in doubt. The final score was 90-74 in the Cougars' favor, led by 28 pts off the bench from Jaxson Robinson. Forward Noah Waterman went for 20 pts and 14 rebs on 8/11 shooting from the field. Spencer Johnson was four assists shy of a triple-double.
The next game was against Georgia State, a game that also proved to not be as difficult. BYU was able to win 86-54, led by a career-high 20 pts from guard Richie Saunders. Trevin Knell had 15 pts in the starting lineup, while Dallin Hall had 12 pts and 6 asts.
The team also got six points off the bench from Dawson Baker, making his in-season debut. The transfer from UC-Irvine averaged 15 ppg last season and figures to be an impact newcomer once he's fully ready to go. The team may need him soon, as Robinson left the game early due to an injury early on.
The expectation isn't that he'll miss much time but Robinson might be held out just in case against Bellarmine. BYU should be favored in that game anyway so it shouldn't matter much.
