25. Duke Blue Devils - 7-3 (0-1 ACC)

Still without starting guard Tyrese Proctor, Duke took on a Hofstra team that had a real chance to upset them, especially since they had one of the best pure scorers in NCAA Basketball, Tyler Thomas. It was a game that looked fairly even in the first half, as the Pride was making plenty of shots.

It took a late run from the Blue Devils to give them a 5-point halftime lead and some sort of separation. But at home, the preseason ACC favorites finally were able to get a big run and play some defense to push the lead out of range for Hofstra. Duke won the game 89-68 and limited Thomas to 18 pts on the night.

Without Proctor, it was the star players that took on the passing duties. Kyle Filipowski had 28 pts, 12 rebs, and 8 asts, while Jeremy Roach had 19 pts and 8 asts on the night. Mark Mitchell and freshman Jared McCain also finished in double-figure scoring.

Up next for Duke is a big game against Baylor, a team that got handled by Michigan State this weekend. Luckily for the Blue Devils, that win over the Spartans now looks a little bit better. And that's important because right now, it's the only good non-con win they have at this point.
