20. Gonzaga Bulldogs - 8-3

Coming off a road loss to rival Washington, Gonzaga had an easy bounce-back game against one of the worst teams in NCAA Basketball, Mississippi Valley State. The game was never in doubt, with the Bulldogs winning, 78-40. Braden Huff led the team with 17 pts off the bench, while Graham Ike had 13 pts and 7 rebs as the lone starter in double figures.

The next game was the biggest for Gonzaga outside of the Maui Invitational. It was a defacto home game in Seattle, as the Bulldogs took on a top-5 UConn sqaud that blew them out last season in the Elite 8.

Unfortunately for the WCC program, this game went in a similar direction. The Bulldogs were down early and it remained that way, as they fell, 76-63. Anton Watson had 20 pts on the night, while Ryan Nembhard had 13 of his 15 pts in the first half. It was another poor shooting performance for the team, as they went 2/12 from deep.

Making matters worse, Gonzaga loses yet another player to injury, as freshman guard Luka Krajnovic is out for at least the next month. That leaves the team with literally three scholarship guards on the roster for a while. The good news is that they won't need him for Jackson State next week but going forward, the lack of depth is going to hurt them.
