45. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield - NC State Wolfpack
2023-24 season stats (at Louisville): 12.9 ppg and 8.4 rpg
The former 5-star prospect doubled his production at Louisville compared to the year prior, shooting 57% from the field as a breakout campaign. Huntley-Hatfield was one of the best ACC frontcourt players in the ladder half of last year, including a 29-point effort versus FSU. He remains in the ACC, now at NC State as the heir-apparent to D.J. Burns in the frontcourt.
44. Kanaan Carlyle - Indiana Hoosiers
2023-24 season stats (Stanford): 11.5 ppg and 2.7 apg
The 6’3 guard and former top-50 prospect started 16 games as a freshman, shooting 39% from the field and a trio of 20+ point games last season. That includes a 31-point effort versus Washington State. Carlyle is set to be a lead guard candidate at Indiana, replacing Xavier Johnson and a sophomore breakout candidate.
43. Kayne Clary - Mississippi State Bulldogs
2023-24 season stats (at Penn State): 16.7 ppg and 2.8 apg
Clary was a sophomore breakout starter for the Nittany Lions, shooting 46% from the field and going for 20+ points on 10 occasions. One includes a 29-point game in a win over Rider. The two-guard joins Mississippi State to form one of the best backcourt duos in the country with sophomore star Josh Hubbard.
42. Michael Ajayi - Gonzaga Bulldogs
2023-24 season stats (at Pepperdine): 17.2 ppg and 9.9 rpg
The 6’7 combo forward excelled in his lone year at Pepperdine, leading them in both categories on 47% shooting from deep in limited shots. Ajayi had numerous double-doubles and several games above 25 points, including 30 points and 17 rebounds on the road at Pacific. The veteran forward remains in the WCC, playing for the national juggernaut as the natural replacement for Anton Watson at the four-spot.
41. Lamont Butler - Kentucky Wildcats
2023-24 season stats (at San Diego State): 9.3 ppg and 3.0 apg
Butler is both a three-year starter and 3-time all-league defender, including being the reigning Mountain West DPOY honoree. The 6’2 guard also had a few big scoring outings, including 23 points against Wyoming. He’s set to be the next starting point guard at Kentucky, whose defensive strengths should be able to translate to the SEC.
