One of the top class of 2025 NCAA Basketball prospects from the state of Ohio is Antione West, a 6'3 shooting guard from Toledo, Ohio. He's a capable scorer and has the size to be successful at the power conference level. West has had plenty of interest from plenty of regional programs but in the end, two have emerged.

Both Nebraska and Purdue have a good history of guard development and have plenty to offer West, whose decision is reportedly set for October 1st. As of now, neither program has a commitment in their respective 2025 recruiting classes. So for whoever, West could be their first target landed.

Does one stand out as a better potential fit? Here's a closer look at each spot.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

Not too long ago, Coach Fred Hoiberg was supposedly on the hot seat at Nebraska. But coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance, he's set to be around for a while. And the team has potential to win this upcoming season, thanks to returning guards, Brice Williams, and Utah transfer, Rollie Worster.

Those two will be gone after next season, while guard transfers Connor Essegian and Gavin Griffiths will be around for at least the next two years. West may have to wait a bit at this option but as shown with Keisei Tominaga, the Cornhuskers' free-flowing offense could allow the prospect to thrive.

Purdue Boilermakers

Coach Matt Painter may be known for his work with big men, including 2-time National Player of the Year, Zach Edey. However, his guard development has been just as good, including past stars such as Jaden Ivey and Carsen Edwards, along with current junior starters, Fletcher Loyer and Braden Smith.

The Boilermakers have a group of freshmen guards, including Gicarri Harris and Jack Benter. So West could be entering a crowded logjam, even worse than possibly at Nebraska. Still, if he's willing to wait, West could be the next key rotation player to have success at Purdue.
