UConn Huskies

If St. John’s is a potential option, then all Big East teams could be an option. And what better than the team coming off two straight national titles? That’s the case for the Huskies, who are replacing its own star guard, Tristen Newton. He’s a similar kind of stat-stuffer who had several triple-doubles in the past two years.

UConn has landed Michigan transfer Tarris Reed and 5-star wing prospect, Liam McNeeley. They could be adding a couple of other guards too but a true ball-handler is still a priority. Richmond can easily slide in to replace Newton and go from an NIT squad to another title contender.

USC Trojans

New HC Eric Musselman has done a great job so far with the portal, landing seven transfers. But there’s still a need for a true point guard unless guys like Bryce Pope and Clark Slajchert are the answer, which is a question. They are reportedly after Kentucky transfer DJ Wagner but even he had some ups and downs as a freshman this past season.

USC’s current roster features a lot of mid-major transfers and it’s not a guarantee that many will work out at the Big Ten level. Richmond and his facilitating skills would make life easier for all of them if he ran the offense. And playing in Los Angeles isn’t a bad place to spend your final year of eligibility.
