Miami Hurricanes

It’s been a strong start to the offseason for the Hurricanes, adding a pair of frontcourt transfers (Lynn Kidd and Brandon Johnson) to the roster. There’s a good amount of depth overall right now, since guards Wooga Poplar and Nijel Pack are back, along with the future addition of 5-star prospect, Jalil Bethea.

The missing piece to the roster right now is a point guard. They never truly replaced former ACC Player of the Year Isaiah Wong, and Pack isn’t a true lead ball-handler. While he’d be a freshman, Fland is just as talented as many available transfers and gives them another capable ball-handler comfortable running the offense.

Michigan State Spartans

The Spartans have officially lost its top two guards in the lineup in Tyson and AJ Hoggard, who led the team in passing the last two years. The current backcourt situation for them now includes Tre Holloman, Jeremy Fears, and four-star guard commits, Kur Teng and Jase Richardson.

While Coach Tom Izzo doesn’t love the transfer portal, he could try to get an elite point guard prospect who could be around for multiple years. A team with Fland and a sophomore version of Xavier Booker could have a high floor a year from now.
