UConn Huskies

There isn’t a better program, both regional and now nationally, with more momentum than UConn. They have two national titles and are developing five-star talent now, with Stephon Castle, a projected lottery pick, the latest example.

All of the main guards are now moving on, including All-American point guard, Tristen Newton. With him gone, that leaves a few guards on the roster, including Hassan Diarra and Solomon Ball. Fland is someone who can come right in and have an impact and could play both on and off-the-ball for them.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Coach Steve Forbes has had a ton of success with guards in the transfer portal, now three years straight with an All-ACC ball-handler. The two most recent examples were Kevin Miller and Hunter Sallis, both of whom averaged over 15 ppg. Since then, Miller entered the transfer portal, while Sallis entered the NBA Draft process.

If Salls remains in the draft, Wake Forest won’t have a lead guard to run the offense. Although he’s not a transfer, this would be a great opportunity for someone like Fland to come in and have a big role in the offense. And if he’s the next guard to excel at Wake, he could easily go pro and be a top-tier draft pick in 2025.
