Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes landed its first class of 2025 commit this week in Dorian Jones, a top-100 shooting guard prospect. Obviously, McKenney is rated higher on paper and with transfer Micah Parrish entering his final season, the three-spot will be open as well. But we’ll see if Ohio State remains highly interested in him compared to other targets or if they know if it’ll be too hard to beat out the Michigan schools for his services since they have a new HC (Jake Diebler) themselves.

Oregon Ducks

Oregon doesn’t have star guard Jermaine Couisnard around but in his place at the two-spot are senior transfers, TJ Bamba and Ra’Heim Moss. They’ll be gone, creating a need for McKeeney. He’d have to stay in Oregon for half the season but he’d be in Big Ten country now, able to play against the Michigan schools. The question is after the ups and downs of some of the recent former 5-star prospects such as Kwame Evans and Mookie Cook, is the Ducks the best spot for someone expected to be a “one and done”?

Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Rutgers has a top-3 incoming recruiting class, led by 5-star prospects, Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper. Both guards are expected to be gone after one year, along with senior guards, Tyson Acuff and PJ Hayes. There very well could be room for McKenney in the 2025 class, one of several five-star prospects the program is looking at as well. If the Scarlet Knights have a big upcoming season, they’ll remain highly appealing for the next class.
