There have recently been a run of talented centers in the NCAA Basketball transfer portal picking new homes, including Cliff Omoruyi (Alabama), Jonas Aidoo (Arkansas), and Norchad Omier (Baylor). There are still a few notable bigs remaining in the portal, including Ugonna Onyenso.

Listed at 6'11 and 225 pounds, Onyenso is a former top-40 prospect who spent two years at Kentucky. He's known for his raw athleticism and interior defense potential, which he showed as a starter. The big man had a 10-block game against Ole Miss and was two blocks from a triple-double versus Florida.

After Coach John Calipari took to Arkansas job, all of the players at Kentucky transferred out, with most picking new spots. That leaves Onyenso, who has gotten plenty of attention from high-major programs. Reportedly, there are seven teams in the mix to land him, all with needs for depth at center.

Here's a closer look at how Onyenso would fit with each of them.

Alabama Crimson Tide

A case can be made that Alabama got the best big man from the portal this offseason in Omoruyi, a transfer from Rutgers who is one of the best defensive centers in NCAA Basketball. But with guys like Nick Pringle abd Mohamed Wague gone, there's not much depth behind him, unless they choose to play Grant Nelson at the five-spot next season.

Onyenso would have to come off the bench but he'd be playing for a preseason top-5 team with national title aspirations, getting around 15-20 mpg off the bench. He'd then be the clear starter as a senior. But other options can certainly offer a bigger role for him.
