TCU Horned Frogs

The Frogs got a big transfer pickup this week in Trazerien White, the star wing from UNCW. He’s one of several commitments for TCU, including 20 ppg scoring guard from Green Bay, Noah Reynolds. They could use another guard/wing that can shoot since it’s a current weakness on the team.

The current roster for the Horned Frogs has a chance to make the NCAA Tournament and Poplar could be the piece that gets them over the hump. But the Big 12 is loaded at the top, with as many as five preseason top-10 teams for next season. It very well could limit the potential of this roster, with or without Poplar.

Villanova Wildcats

It’s been an interesting offseason for Coach Kyle Neptune and Villanova, having lost all of its main guards from last season. If big man and leading scorer Eric Dixon opts to stay in the NBA Draft, then it’ll be a complete rebuild. They’ve already landed a trio of transfer guards in Jhamir Brickus (La Salle), Max Shulga (VCU), and Tyler Perkins (Penn).

All three are from the mid-major ranks, which could allow Poplar to be the focal point of the offense. And the main selling point here is that Poplar is from Philadelphia and can play back at home for his final year. But will the team be good enough to make it worthwhile?
