NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing the 11 teams in play for 4-star C Eric Reibe
Oregon Ducks
Dana Altman deserves more credit for his consistency in leading the Oregon Ducks, both on the court and on the NCAA basketball recruiting trail despite their (seemingly) never-ending list of injuries. As the Ducks enter their first season in the Big Ten, their frontcourt is an intriguing collection of players.
Despite the graduation of N’Faly Dante, one of the better bigs in the PAC-12 last season, the Ducks will lean on big man Nate Bittle in the frontcourt, who will look to stay healthy, alongside Kwame Evans Jr. and Georgetown transfer Supreme Cook. It’s a veteran-laden frontcourt, meaning the door is open for Reibe to step in in 2025-26 and make an immediate impact, making the Oregon Ducks a sensible landing spot.
Stanford Cardinal
Under Jerod Haase, the Stanford Cardinal was a popular college basketball recruiting destination for eight years. Unfortunately for the Cardinal, the recruiting wins off the court didn’t translate to wins on the court, which led to the departure of Haase and the welcoming of Kyle Smith. Smith, who previously spent time at Columbia, San Francisco and Washington State, is familiar with recruiting at a school similar to Stanford, a major plus for the Cardinal.
Looking in the frontcourt, Kyle Smith retained Maxime Raynaud, one of the best players available in the portal, to Palo Alto for his senior season. Raynaud will graduate this spring, but Harvard transfer Chisom Okpara will have another year of eligibility alongside incoming three-star NCAA basketball recruit Tallis Toure. Stanford would be a questionable fit. Yet, the appeal of Stanford alone certainly has its appeal.
