NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing the 11 teams in play for 4-star C Eric Reibe
UConn Huskies
UConn Huskies head coach Dan Hurley might have the effortless recruiting pitch in NCAA basketball recruiting. Hesends players to the NBA, he gets players in the lottery and, of course, he has won back-to-back titles -- quite the accolades for a recruiting pitch.
In 2025-26, it's likely that F Alex Karaban and F Liam McNeeley, an incoming five-star recruit in the 2024 college basketball recruiting class, will depart for the NBA, meaning an open spot in the frontcourt is there for Reibe to take. Samson Johnson will be graduating, meaning the only player in UConn’s frontcourt next year is Michigan transfer Tarris Reed Jr. UConn will have open spots in the frontcourt. Eric Reibe would be a logical piece for the Huskies’ future.
West Virginia Mountaineers
It’s a new roster in Morgantown, as first-year head coach Darian DeVries takes over a Mountaineer program set to return less than 10% of their minutes, according to BartTorvik’s 2025 preseason projections. Entering 2024-25, the Mountaineers (technically) have two bigs on their roster: Fresno State Eduardo Andre and Illinois transfer Amani Hansberry.
By 2025-26, Andre will have exhausted his collegiate eligibility, meaning it would be a seamless fit for the four-star C Eric Reibe to enter the mix. Not only would Eric Reibe make a direct impact in Morgantown, but it would serve as a major recruiting win for Darian DeVries in the 2025 NCAA basketball recruiting class.
