The overall recruitment of the 2025 NCAA Basketball class is starting to heat up, with plenty of top-tier prospects providing respective updates. The latest is Joson Sanon, a consensus five-star prospect from Saxtons, River, Vermont. He's a 6'5 forward, currently ranked in the top 15 overall, according to 247sportsComposite.
Sanon is one of the top pure scorers in all of high school, capable of producing anywhere on the court. He has plenty of interest and offers from top programs and recently, he's updated his own recruitment with a list.
One of the options is Overtime Elite, a basketball league in Atlanta that offers the chance for players to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars. as an alternative to the college route. There are pros and cons to this, as players such as Asar and Amen Thompson are now in the NBA while others haven't had as much success. That includes the Bewley brothers, Matt and Ryan, who were one-time five-star prospects, who seemed to have flamed out. They tried to play at Chicago State this past season but the NCAA denied their eligibility, viewed as having been improperly paid during their time at OTE.
If Overtime Elite isn't the outcome and it doesn't look like the G-League Ignite squad is an option, Sanon has nine viable NCAA Basketball programs to choose from. Of course, there are pros and cons to playing at least one year in college as well. Here's a close at how he'd fit with each of them.
