Jhamir Brickis is one of the top point guards in the NCAA Basketball transfer portal. Which teams are in the running to land him?

Although they finished 10th in the Atlantic 10 standings this past season, La Salle had one of the more entertaining backcourts in the league. One of those guards was Jhamir Brickus, a four-year starter who is coming off a career-high 13.9 ppg and 4.8 apg, shooting 40% from three-point range.

Brickus had five games of at least 20 points, including a career-high 41 points and nine rebounds in a triple-overtime loss to Temple. He entered the transfer portal after the season and has gotten some power conference interest, as well as one of the top teams in the A-10.

With a group of three options, here's how Brickus fits with each of them.

South Carolina Gamecocks

Coming off a surprising trip to the NCAA Tournament, South Carolina will have to replace its two lead guards, Meechie Johnson and Ta'Lon Cooper. Zachary Davis and Jacobi Wright returns but they aren't the kind of facilitators that someone like Brickus is. It's an option that'll allow him to start at a power conference program and have as large of a role as possible.

VCU Rams

The Rams have lost Max Shulga and Sean Bairstow this offseason but they still bring back Zeb Jackson. They can use another ball-handler and Brickus, a proven A-10 performer, would be a nice addition. While they probably need frontcourt help more, landing a double-digit talent would be a welcomed newcomer to make up for Shulga's departure.

Villanova Wildcats

The Wildcats have lost several key pieces from the roster and they're waiting on the decision from starting point guard, Mark Amstrong. He averaged 8.4 ppg and 2.4 apg and is in the NBA Draft process but likely will return. If that happens, he and Brickus would still work as a backcourt duo since the former La Salle guard has experience playing with another ball-handler in Khalil Brantley.
