NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 3 teams for top-30 SG Braylon Mullins
Another star NCAA Basketball prospect has updated his respective list of options in the past few days. Braylon Mullins is a consensus top-30 shooting guard recruit in the 2025 class, listed as a 6'4 playmaker and pure scorer out of the state of Indiana.
Previously, Mullins had a list of 12 teams in consideration, including several blue blood programs. Now, there are only three left, and a decision could come before the start of the college season.
Here's a closer look at how Mullins would fit with the three contenders.
Indiana Hoosiers
Indiana recently landed top-100 forward prospect Trent Sisley as its first commit in the 2025 class. The team will be looking to keep Mullins local, as selling him on being the replacement for Trey Galloway at the two-spot. He's one of several top targets the program is after, hoping to make Mullins the centerpiece of a great overall class.
North Carolina Tar Heels
With Cormac Ryan gone and star guard RJ Davis leaving after this season, there's a need for a new shooting option. The team are after other guard options in the 2025 class such as Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis but the key guys to watch are current Heel freshmen Ian Jackson and Drake Powell. If both aren't leaving after next season, a logjam could occur.
UConn Huskies
The Huskies have had great success with pure shooters, with Cam Spencer being one of the best impact transfers from last season, while Jordan Hawkins ended up being an NBA Draft Lottery pick a couple of years ago, with both winning a national title.
UConn has been in the mix for several top prospects but to this point, hasn't landed any. Even with St. Mary's transfer Aidan Mahaney, there's still a need for a quality two-guard for next year's roster. Mullins would be an ideal pickup for the program to fill one of its few holes.
