One of the best true centers in the entire 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class is Xavion Staton, a 7'0 big man from Las Vegas. His size and measurables allows him to be an impact frontcourt player on both ends, especially on the defensive end with his shot-blocking ability.

The talented west-coast big man has reportedly updated his recruitment, now down to just four options. Which of them is the best potential fit for the top-30 prospect? Here's a closer look at each situation.

BYU Cougars

The Cougars had a great offseason on the recruiting trail, landing top-40 commits, Kanon Catchings and Egor Denim. They do have four-star forward commit Khadim Mboup in the 2025 class but after losing Aly Khalifa, needs to find a true center for the future. Staton could get minutes at this option and play for new HC Kevin Smith, a former NBA assistant with connections.

Michigan Wolverines

New HC Dusty May brought with him Vlad Goldin, the starting center at Florida Atlantic. He'll be gone after this season, though Yale transfer Danny Wolf will be around and is capable of playing the five-spot. Still, there would be room for Staton to come in and have an early role and he can potentially thrive in May's system.

Stanford Cardinal

Stanford has one of the best-returning centers in the country, Maxime Raynaud, which will be around for one more year. There's no real other big man primed to be the next starter, so this is an option where Staton could come in and start as a freshman. Plus, it not only allows him to stay out west but also play for the highest-profile academic institution as well.

UNLV Runnin' Rebels

As the "hometown" team, UNLV has a very compelling sell to make to the four-star big man. They can keep Staton home, while also able to offer him being a focal point of the offense. The entire frontcourt rotation, including Nelly Junior Joseph and BYU transfer Atiki Ally Atiki, will be gone after this season.

Playing time shouldn't be a concern for Staton's options, which could make this an open battle. All of them are different and have various selling points, including education, conference affiliation, and location. Which of them will be his destination spot?
