Arkansas Razorbacks

Pros

When Coach John Calipari was at Kentucky, they were completely after Acuff. Nothing has changed at Arkansas, making him one of their top targets. For a guy who likely wants to make the NBA as soon as possible, the Razorbacks make a lot of sense. Reed Sheppard went from being a four-star prospect to the first NCAA Basketball player taken off the board in the past draft, another key selling point to make.

The team will be losing senior guard Johnell Davis after next season and likely either DJ Wagner or 5-star guard prospect Boogie Fland. Acuff can come in and be a focal point of the offense and will be surrounded by a lot of other five-star talent for the 2025-26 roster.

Cons

For Acuff to make complete sense at Arkansas, either Wagner or Fland has to go pro or hit the transfer portal. Speaking of Wagner, he’s also a former five-star and top-5 prospect from the 2023 class and while he did start, his stock did fall this past season.

Speaking of other 5-star talent, Acuff may not even end up being the best incoming freshman joining the team a year from now. The team reportedly is after Meleek Thomas, Trey McKenney, and others, and depending on which transfers Arkansas lands, his role at Arkansas could be smaller compared to the other options.
