Michigan Wolverines

Pros

The chance to stay home will always be a major selling point for a prospect. Darius’s cousin, Tyson, excelled when he went from Duquesne to back home at Eastern Michigan. That could be the plan for the younger Acuff, who can also play a hand in bringing back Michigan Basketball to being a national contender.

The projected backcourt for the Wolverines includes Rubin Jones and Tre Donaldson, two solid playmakers but on paper, not as good as Acuff. Coach Dusty May also can sell the development of Johnell Davis, who developed into one of the best guards in NCAA Basketball at FSU. Acuff, who has more natural ability, can end up as a better version.

Cons

Michigan is “rebuilding” at the moment, which offers its own pros and cons at the moment. Coach May could be the guy for the future or the team could remain mediocre in the Big Ten. If nothing else, they don’t compare to the other three options on this list, with May being the only coach without a national title as well.

Could Acuff be able to bring other top prospects with him in the 2025 class? If not, the chances for the team to win aren’t going to be as high. Michigan can offer playing time and a big role but technically, so can the other options.
