Former Duke guard Jaden Schutt is the latest name in the NCAA Basketball transfer portal. Which teams are in the mix to land him?

No team recruits as well on a yearly basis like the Duke Blue Devils, who consistently has top-2 classes. That can come at a cost, as players who aren't good enough to go pro is at risk of getting recruited over, forcing them to enter the transfer portal. This offseason, seven players from Duke transferred out, including former top-100 prospect, Jaden Schutt.

After playing 14 games as a freshman, Schutt sat out and redshirted this past season. So he has three seasons left of eligibility. He's known for being a good shooter and at the right spot, could be a future breakout star. We now know which teams are in the mix to land Schutt, with several set to get a visit. Here's a closer look at his fit with each of them.

Butler Bulldogs

Butler has lost a couple of key guards to the portal this offseason, including Posh Alexander and DJ Davis. They have already landed some talented wings in former Maryland guard Jamie Kaiser and Patrick McCaffery, a 6'8 wing from Iowa. So there will be some competition for Schutt if he picks them.

Dayton Flyers

The Flyers were one of the top 3-point shooting teams in all of NCAA Basketball, but lost its best pure shooter to the portal in Koby Breat. Kobe Elvis is also gone so there's a need for an additional guard to the rotation. Schutt would be moving down a level but would thrive in the Atlantic 10 and if DaRon Holmes returns, would get plenty of open looks on the perimeter like Brea did.

DePaul Blue Demons

It's a completely different roster since Coach Chris Holtmann took over, already adding 10 transfers. In the backcourt includes double-digit scorers, Isaiah Rivera and Jacob Meyer, along with Indiana transfer guard, CJ Gunn. Schutt could very well carve out his own role but it's completely unknown as to which players will emerge on this roster.

Virginia Tech Hokies

The Hokies will have a completely revamped roster to work with since both Sean Pedulla and Hunter Cattoor are gone. They've since replaced them with Jordan Ivy-Curry and Hysier Miller, two talented scorers but aren't the same kind of shooters. Schutt, who already has experience in the ACC, would be a good fit with VT, which is a friendly offensive system.

Wisconsin Badgers

Two of the main guards that Wisconsin lost were leading scorer AJ Storr and Connor Essegian, who was supposed to be their own sharpshooter. There's a big question as to where the perimeter shooting will come from the current roster, with John Blackwell and Max Klesmit. Schutt is from Big Ten country (Yorkville, Illinois) and would definitely be part of the rotation but other options could offer an even larger role.
