Cal Bears

Coach Mark Madsen has done a good job in rebuilding the roster as they enter the ACC. They have good wings/forwards, including 16 ppg transfer, BJ Omot. They also have a pair of capable transfer ball-handlers in DJ Campbell and Christian Tucker.

What the Bears are missing is a high-volume scorer that can be a go-to option. Blackmon can fill that role and be an upgrade over Jalen Cone from this past season. Compared to some of the other options on his list, Blackmon’s odds of starting are highest with Cal.

Miami Hurricanes

With the recent news of starting guard Wooga Poplar entering the portal the Hurricanes became a more viable option for Blackmon. That’s because they already had Nijel Pack back and are adding top-10 incoming freshman, Jalil Bethea. With who else is on the roster, Miami would be a top-25 team with Blackmon, probably better than the others on the list.

That being said, the risk would be that Blackmon’s role becomes much less than expected. If they add another ball-handler, that would likely force him to come off the bench. There’d have to be a balance between being on a good team and still having a sizeable role, something to consider with this specific option.
