NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 6 teams for 2025 4-star SG Kiyan Anthony
Auburn Tigers
Coach Bruce Pearl has landed numerous top-30 prospects over the years, with forward Jabari Smith being the prized past recruit who worked out. He hasn’t been able to get the guard version of him yet, with former 5-star guard prospect Aden Holloway opting to transfer after one year this offseason.
Auburn’s backcourt for the past few years has mainly featured Wendell Green and KD Johnson, both of whom are gone. With incoming transfers JP Pegues and Miles Kelly leaving after next season, there would be a real need for a key guard like Anthony to come in and have a major impact. Anthony will be a prime backup option if they fail to land 5-star target Meleek Thomas.
Florida State Seminoles
The past couple of years have been rough for the FSU program but Coach Leonard Hamilton has a good history with developing players into future NBA stars. And with leading scorer Jamir Watkins leaving after next season, there’s a massive need for a scorer of Anthony’s caliber to come in and have a big impact for 2025-26.
But outside of a guaranteed large role as a freshman, there’s not much else for the Seminoles to sell for class of 2025 prospects. If things don’t get much better next season, Coach Hamilton isn’t guaranteed to be around long-term. Plus, the other options will be more likely to win on paper.
