One of the best frontcourt prospects in the 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class is Matthew Gilhool, a consensus four-star talent from the Philadelphia area. He's a 6'10 forward, capable of playing multiple positions on the court as a versatile offensive option.

Gilhool is a modern-day forward, capable of scoring both inside and out, as well as back-to-the-basket and playing face-up. He can shoot the ball well from the outside and not too bad in the paint either. His overall stock has risen in the past year, now ranked in the top 70, according to 247sports.

Recently, Gilhool has limited his options to a group of seven teams, all of which are among the power conference ranks. Which of them makes the most sense for the four-star prospect? Focusing on the possible roster fits, here's a closer look.

Alabama Crimson Tide

For Gilhool, the ideal selling from Alabama's side is to have him replace Grant Nelson, who is entering his final year. He'll be gone, as well as potentially Jarin Stevenson, a potential 1st-round NBA Draft pick. The team does have top-40 freshman forward Aiden Sherrell joining but there's not much depth outside of him for the 2025-26 campaign.

Coach Nate Oats has been landing top-40 players and transfers and that's something to watch if you're Gilhool. Sam Walters, a player similar to Gilhool, transferred after his freshman campaign this offseason due to the roster logjam. It'll be a risk to pick this option unless a clear path has emerged.
