Kentucky Wildcats

New Coach Mark Pope has two senior ball-handlers to lead the team next season in Lamont Butler and Kerr Kriisa, who’ll be gone a year from now. That leaves four-star incoming freshman guard Travis Perry for the future, with no current commits in the 2025 class. Even without Coach John Calipari, Kentucky remains a nationally recognized program and top prospects will be interested.

The big question with the Wildcats is how the recruitment changes with Mark Pope in town. Will he land many five-star prospects in his first full class in 2025 or will someone like Lewis be the top target? Their recruitment with 5-star combo guard Darryn Peterson is something to watch as well.

Michigan Wolverines

New Coach Dusty May has a pair of veteran ball-handlers coming from the transfer portal (Tre Donaldson and Rubin Jones), as well as two incoming freshmen guards (Durral Brooks and Lorenzo Cason). On paper, Lewis may have a higher ceiling than any of them, and could be a future starting guard for the program.

At the same time, there’s also a potential logjam with the Wolverines going forward since Jones is the only senior in the group. With the program completely rebuilding, there are lots of unknowns to deal with in the program and a decision may have to be later to see how this roster works out.
