Tennessee Volunteers

The Vols entire backcourt of key players are entering their senior seasons, including long-time starting point guard, Zakai Zeigler. He and Jordan Gainey will be gone after next year, leaving four-star freshman combo guard Bishop Boswell as the only player on the roster.

This is an option where Lewis could reasonably expect to have a big role as a freshman for what will be a rebuilt backcourt. And like what happened with Zeigler, could easily start and have a nice impact in year 1. The past success Coach Rick Barnes has had with previous top guard prospects also should help in the recruitment here.

UConn Huskies

The point guard situation for the Huskies currently features senior Hassan Diarra, as well as underclassmen guards, Solomon Ball and top-50 incoming freshman, Ahmad Nowell. Even after Diarra departs, there very well could be a logjam for someone like Lewis to deal with, even before knowing what 5-star targets, Darius Acuff and Meleek Thomas, decide to do.

With Coach Dan Hurley back, the Huskies have become arguably the top program in all of NCAA Basketball. So it makes sense that Lewis would have real interest in them. But he’s in the middle of having to deal with not only the guards on the current roster but also risk the chance of being over-recruited in the same class by others.
