Indiana Hoosiers
The Hoosiers have a 5-star on the way in 2024 commit Liam McNeeley and assuming he’s not a “one and done”, could be paired with Patterson in the future to create a great backcourt for the future. Xavier Johnson, MacKenzie Mgbako, and Ke’Lel Ware will all be gone by then. Being able to play in Assembly Hall is a major selling for someone from the Midwest, while Coach Mike Woodson can sell his own NBA experience for development purposes.
Kansas Jayhawks
Shooting guard position is one of great need for Kansas since both Nicolas Timberlake and Kevin McCullar Jr. will be gone after this season. At the same time, Arterio Morris was dismissed by the team before the season began. They’re going to be in a position for any top prospects as long as Bill Self is the HC but Patterson claiming his spot early in the 2025 class makes sense.
Kentucky Wildcats
Like with Kansas, always expect Coach John Calipari and Kentucky to be in the mix for any top targets as well. They already have the No. 2 class, including top-10 2024 guard, Boogie Fland. They don’t have any ‘25 commits right now but are reportedly in the mix for targets such as Darius Acuff, Meleek Thomas, and No. 1 recruit, A.J. Dybantsa. They probably could get one to pair with Patterson before it becomes a crowded option for the future.
