NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 9 teams for 2025 top-40 SG Davion Hannah
One of the best overall prospects from the Midwest is Davion Hannah, a 6'5 shooting guard from Link Academy in Missouri, originally from the state of Wisconsin. He's a natural scorer and legit athlete, which makes him an appealing two-way contributor.
Hannah, who is ranked in the top 50 overall in the 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, has set up a number of official visits in the coming weeks while having a list of nine programs in the running. Does any of them stand out in terms of being an ideal fit?
Here's a closer look at each option below.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama is after a ton of class of 2025 prospects, which makes sense, considering how appealing they’ve become as an offensive system. Four of the top guards in next season’s rotation are seniors, including Mark Sears and incoming transfer guards, Chris Youngblood and Houston Mallette. Without knowing what incoming freshmen guards/wings (Derrion Reid and Nassir Cunningham) will look like, Hannah might have to wait a year or two before having a clear path to playing time here.
Cincinnati Bearcats
Another program filled with senior guards is Cincy, which has Simas Lukosius and Bradley transfer Connor Hickman as the featured off-guards on the roster. Dan Skillings and Rayvon Griffith Hannah would have the chance to be a potential lead-guard for an up-and-coming Big 12 program but there’s not a clear path to be a starter in the first couple of years if he were to pick them.
Louisville Cardinals
New Coach Pat Kelsey has done well in the transfer portal in his first offseason and was able to land top-50 incoming wing freshman prospect, Khani Rooths. Just about all of the transfer guards are seniors, including J’Vonne Hadley, Kobe Rodgers, and Reyne Smith. Hannah would be an elite first commit in the 2025 class for Coach Kelsey and likely get into the rotation as a freshman.
