NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Ranking top 8 teams for 2025 top-30 center Malachi Moreno
6. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Coach Micah Shrewsberry has a strong backcourt for the foreseeable future, led by his son Braeden and star freshman guard, Markus Burton. What they need in order to improve as a team is better frontcourt players. Seniors Burke Chebuhar and Nikita Konstantynovskyi will be around for just one year so Moreno would be able to come in and be the focal point. However, the other teams on this list does have a better shot at winning in the near future.
5. Louisville Cardinals
New HC Pat Kelsey landed a bunch of transfers this offseason to instantly make them competitive in the ACC, something they haven’t been in the past two seasons. Now, they’re looking to get back into the high school ranks to get an elite 2025 class. Pairing Moreno and returning big man Aly Khalifa would be a nice center combo for next season, before Moreno becomes the new lead big.
4. Arkansas Razorbacks
Coach John Calipari has a new roster to work with at Arkansas, including transfer centers, Jonas Aidoo and Zvonimir Ivisis. Although Aidoo will be gone after next season, the 7’3 freshman big man could stick around longer, so Moreno would have to be willing to be a backup unless Ivisic goes pro. Plus, who knows who else Coach Cal will add to the 2025 class that could be even better than Moreno inside.
