NCAA Basketball: Tommy Bruner, Norchad Omier headline latest Players of the Week
By Bryan Mauro
Another week is in the books and that means that there is another set of the Busting Brackets Player of the Week. There were some huge performances this week, just like every week, but the mid major side of things had some guys battling it out to see who could have the best performance of the week. There were five guys who I strongly considering giving the award to this week, but one player just kept standing out because of his performance. The Power 5 was a lot easier to give out. Even though there were some huge performances only two players stood out because of their consistency.
This week takes us to the Summit League to look at a graduate student who has been putting up huge numbers all year long. It will be the first time this player was recognized this season as the Player of the Week, but he has been getting some national recognition all year. It is shocking that given how well he has been playing he has not been the Player of the Week yet this year.
The Power Five player is another new player to the award. He didn’t win it at all last year and has yet to win it this year. He is a guy who is always extremely consistent but doesn’t always put up huge numbers. I am happy that there are new players to give this award to. It just shows how much good basketball has been played this year.
