5. Eric Musselman (USC)

Throughout his coaching career, Musselman has impacted a lot of basketball lives, working at several levels across the last three and a half decades. More recently, he’s become quite the catch at the collegiate level, doing phenomenal work that he’ll hope to continue on the West Coast at USC. While Andy Enfield wasn’t necessarily bad for the Trojans in recent years it’s very fair to say that Musselman is a sharp improvement.

Musselman has been a professional coach at several places, but most notably served as head coach for both the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. Though those NBA stops weren’t outstanding, he’s been phenomenal at the college level, winning 110 games and making postseason noise in four seasons at Nevada. Arkansas nabbed him in 2019 and was rewarded with two Elite Eights and a Sweet Sixteen over the last five seasons.

Back on the West Coast, Musselman takes over a USC program that greatly underachieved this season but look to get back on their feet in the very near future. Musselman has been one of the coaches who has been masterful at using the Transfer Portal and it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Trojans stacked with veteran talent in the coming years. Life will be difficult as new members of the Big Ten initially, but Musselman instantly becomes one of that conference’s most prominent head coaches.
