3. Hunter Dickinson (Kansas)

There was a lot to love about Dickinson’s game during his three seasons at Michigan and not much about that changed this past year with the Jayhawks. The former All-American center decided to leave the Wolverines and joined a very talented Kansas squad. It’s not surprising to hear that Dickinson fit well as an anchor for the Jayhawks, even if their season didn’t exactly end as they may have hoped.

Building on recent success, Dickinson averaged 17.9 points and 10.9 rebounds in his first season with the Jayhawks in the Big 12, becoming the league’s most prominent scorer and rebounder. He’d earn Second Team All-American honors for the second time in his career and was First Team All-Big 12. Dickinson made exactly the impact that most expected with the Jayhawks, though other issues doomed Kansas to a 5th place Big 12 finish and early exit from the Big Dance.

Dickinson shined during a hot start for the Jayhawks, with 27 points and 21 rebounds in a win over Kentucky and another 20-rebound effort against Tennessee. Dickinson would also play well in wins over Connecticut and Houston and had a pair of 20-rebound games in March. Though he’d miss the Big 12 Tournament, he played well in a win over Samford before Gonzaga ended the Jayhawks’ season in the second round. Regardless, Dickinson was a machine and an anchor for a Kansas team whose struggles didn’t stem from his play.
