8. Jahmir Young (Maryland)

Scoring has always been in Young’s game. This was the case during three prolific seasons at Charlotte and has remained since he transferred to Maryland in 2022. An accomplished scorer, Young was great in year one with the Terrapins but found a way to be even better in his fifth year of college ball.

After averaging 19.6 points a game two seasons ago at Charlotte, Young managed to surpass that figure while playing Big Ten basketball, putting up 20.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game for the Terrapins. His All-Big Ten honors were well-deserved as he was among the top scorers and free throw shooters in the league. At just 15-17, the season didn’t go how Maryland had hoped, but Young really balled out to finish his collegiate career.

Young scored 37 in a key road win at UCLA right before Christmas and dropped 36 at Northwestern just a few weeks later. He keyed impressive wins with a nice performance at Illinois, though more times than not his output wasn’t enough for this Terrapins squad. Regardless of Maryland’s record, Young proved his value, standing out in a league filled with stars and becoming a notable offensive superstar. This ranking is based only on this past season, but it’s hard not to be impressed by 2600 career points.
