7. Dylan Disu (Texas)

It feels like almost a lifetime ago that Disu was playing for Jerry Stackhouse at Vanderbilt but a lot has changed in recent years. He joined Texas in 2021 alongside new head coach Chris Beard and continues to star for the Longhorns under new management. In fact, Disu was the Big 12 Tournament MVP in 2023 and only continued to build on that foundation this past season.

He averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, with impressive stats across the board. Disu made 45% of his 3-pointers, albeit in limited opportunities, and greatly improved his total game, more than doubling his offensive output from last season. He did miss more than a month to start the season, but was playing some inspired basketball down the stretch, earning him First Team All-Big 12 recognition.

After a slow return, Disu got back to business with a 33-point performance at Cincinnati in early January, the first sign that he was going to be special again for the Longhorns. He had an impressive stretch in February, helping the Longhorns to road wins at TCU and Texas Tech in the process. He didn’t shoot particularly well in the postseason, but he did help guide Texas to another NCAA Tournament win, though their season ended a bit sooner than Disu expected.
