5. Kadary Richmond (Seton Hall)

A former Top 100 recruit who initially landed at Syracuse, Richmond played a single season for the Orange before transferring to Seton Hall back in 2021. He’s been a full-time starter for three years with the Pirates but it’s safe to say that senior year was by far his finest effort. Although the Pirates found themselves just short of the Big Dance, there was nothing short about Richmond’s season.

This frisky guard from New York averaged 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, establishing career bests in those and other statistics for the Pirates. Not only was he named First Team All-Big East, which itself is an impressive honor in that conference, but he led that league in steals and made impressive gains on both sides of the ball.

Richmond played well throughout the season, with one highlight being a triple-double (21 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists) in the Pirates’ triple-overtime loss to Creighton. He had numerous 20-point efforts and even totaled 13 assists in a February win against Xavier. He played inspired ball down the stretch in the postseason, dropping 21 points and 13 rebounds against Indiana State to win the NIT championship. We’ll see what kind of contribution he makes for St. John’s next season.
