NCAA Basketball: Top 10 players to wear jersey No. 10 in 2023-24 season
By Joey Loose
1. RayJ Dennis (Baylor)
Dennis put up decent figures as an underclassman at Boise State before really breaking through at Toledo. He was the MAC Player of the Year in 2023 before choosing to transfer for his final year of eligibility. Pursued by many, Dennis found a home down at Baylor under Scott Drew and had quite the successful final season with the Bears.
He wasn’t going to match the individual numbers from his senior year at Toledo, but Dennis managed to average 13.6 points and 6.7 assists in his lone season playing in the Big 12. His contributions earned him Second Team All-Big 12 as he lead the conference in assists, ranking among the Top 10 in the nation in that regard. Dennis remained a solid scorer with the Bears, helping the team to a 3rd place finish in the Big 12 and another trip into the Big Dance.
His play was sloppy at times, but Dennis had 15 points against Auburn in his debut and later scored 22 in a nice win over Florida. He would add a few double-doubles during league play, like his 24-point, 10-assist effort against TCU and 19 points and 10 assists in a win over Kansas. Although the Bears were upended in the NCAA Tournament’s second round, it wasn’t because of Dennis, as he had 27 points against Clemson in his final collegiate game.
