10. BJ Freeman (Milwaukee)

As a freshman, Freeman played at Dodge City Community College in Kansas but while there caught the attention of D1 coaches. After nice numbers there, he’d transfer to Milwaukee and has spent the last two seasons becoming one of the best offensive players in the Horizon League. While the Panthers haven’t exactly reached the pinnacle of the Horizon, it’s clear that Freeman has really stood out in their recent resurgence.

Freeman is coming off a junior year where he averaged 21.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Virtually every part of his game continued to grow, as he shot 35% from the 3 and had career-best figures across the board. He led the league in points per game, earning Second Team All-Horizon honors during a 20-win season for the Panthers, who settled for a 5th place finish.

Sitting among the national leaders in points per game, it’s not shocking to hear that Freeman had some awesome performances. He had 33 points and 10 rebounds in the season opener, a loss to Providence, and would later drop 38 on Purdue Fort Wayne. Freeman did miss more than a month of the season but came back just in time for conference play. He actually averaged 25 points per game in February and March and will hope to build on that at Arizona State as a senior.
