6. Darius Brown II (Utah State)

Brown originally spent parts of four seasons at Cal State Northridge, becoming an important backcourt piece in the Big West. He originally transferred to Montana State for his senior year and would follow head coach Danny Sprinkle to Utah State this past offseason. Not only was Brown playing against stiffer competition in the MWC, he also had the best season of his career, helping lead the Aggies to a historic season.

That lone year in Logan saw him average 12.3 points and 6.5 assists per game, finishing 10th in the nation in assists. He earned First Team All-MWC honors, shot nearly 40% from outside the arc, and was one of the best pure shooters and ball distributors in the conference. He played well for a Utah State squad that was an afterthought in preseason and ended up winning the MWC regular season title.

Known for his contributions on both sides of the ball, Brown had a 22-point, 8-assist effort early in the season against Southern Utah which jumpstarted a long winning streak for the Aggies. He didn’t just pick on weaker teams, scoring 25 in a big win over San Diego State just a few weeks after scoring 18 against Boise State. He had a double-double in Utah State’s Tourney win over TCU and certainly had quite the emphatic end to his collegiate career.
