1. Tyler Kolek (Marquette)
After an outstanding freshman season at George Mason, Kolek opted to transfer, landing at Marquette back in 2021. The Rhode Island native showed promise as a sophomore but really burst onto the scene as a junior, winning Big East Player of the Year. Marquette would not have had their breakthrough the last few seasons without Kolek’s contributions, and he certainly did a lot of that this year.
During this remarkable senior season Kolek would average 15.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while making 39% of his 3-pointers. All of these numbers are impressive for any collegiate player, let alone someone lead Marquette to 2nd place in the Big East. He topped the Big East in assists for a third straight season and was named both First Team All-Big East and a Second Team All-American, emerging again as one of the best point guards in the country.

Kolek waste little time getting his senior season started, with a 24-point, 6-rebound effort in an early upset at Illinois. He dropped 28 points on Texas a few weeks later and had several double-doubles throughout his season. Kolek would score a career-high 32 points at Villanova, but missed several weeks due to injury. Fortunately he returned for the Big Dance, taking the Golden Eagles to the Sweet Sixteen, with double-doubles in all three Tourney games.
