10. Tony Perkins (Iowa)

While the results haven’t exactly been regular success in the postseason, Iowa has had a slew of great talent in recent years. Though he didn’t get the notoriety of some of their former stars, Perkins has played fantastic ball for the Hawkeyes, especially as an underclassman. He didn’t see the court as much in his first few seasons, but the Indianapolis native certainly continued what’s been a major role for Iowa this past year.

While the Hawkeyes fell short of the Big Dance, Perkins starred with 14.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. He earned Second Team All-Big Ten and was among the conference’s leaders in both assists and steals, assuming a major role both in scoring and setting up the offense for the Hawkeyes. There was a lot of good from Perkins’ game, even if it didn’t depend on long-range shooting.

Perkins played well in some key wins for the Hawkeyes, with 14 points and 5 assists against Seton Hall and a slew of 20-point efforts in Big Ten play. Against Nebraska, Perkins had a career-high 15 assists in a key win, with a 14-assist game coming a few weeks later versus Northwestern. All in all, he was a solid contributor on an Iowa team that fell a little short of recent years, but did at least reach the second round of the NIT.
