6. Kasean Pryor (South Florida)

Early in his career, Pryor spent two seasons at Boise State but didn’t really catch on, playing barely fifty minutes total in those two seasons. After a productive season at Northwest Florida State College he bounced back to D1 this past season, landing at South Florida in the offseason. Pryor joined new coach Amir Abdur Rahim’s rotation and the result would be quite the impressive season for both him and these Bulls.

Pryor averaged 13.0 points and 7.9 rebounds as a junior, becoming a critical weapon and the top rebounder for the Bulls. Pryor was a major part of South Florida’s resurgence, helping them to a very surprising AAC regular season title. His defensive metrics were among the best in the conference, while also standing out as a top rebounder and free throw shooter.

He joined the starting lineup in early December and it paid off by the start of league play. Pryor dropped 29 points in a win over Rice and had 21 a few days later in a key road win at Memphis. Those were the first two of several 20-point outings, including a 29-point, 11-rebound game in the regular season finale at Tulsa. He racked up several double-doubles down the stretch, helping lead the Bulls to the second round of the NIT, and will look to build on all of this next year at Louisville.
