4. Quinten Post (Boston College)
Previously a benchwarmer at Mississippi State, Post’s career certainly took an upswing when he transferred to Boston College three years ago. He became a new weapon after Earl Grant was hired to lead the program. While the Eagles haven’t exactly become relevant, Post spent these last three years developing into one of the ACC’s hidden frontcourt gems.
As a fifth-year senior he averaged 17.0 points and 8.1 rebounds a game for the Eagles while making 43% of his 3-pointers. The 7-footer has worked hard in developing his outside shot while also playing very production ball in the paint. He was named Second Team All-ACC and earned a spot on the league’s All-Defense team after finishing second in blocked shots, averaging 1.7 a game. Even with Boston College again finishing in the bottom half of the standings, Post found a way to stand out.
Eager to show himself, he had 31 points and 11 rebounds on opening night against Fairfield and sooner after put up 20 points and 19 rebounds in a win over Harvard. He wasn’t just beating up on mid-majors, playing well in a road win over Vanderbilt before settling in during conference play. Post had twin 30-point efforts in March against Pittsburgh and Miami and had 23 points and 13 rebounds in an ACC Tournament loss to Virginia. Thanks to his efforts, Boston College won 20 games this season and advanced to the second round of the NIT.
