7. Jaylin Hunter (Ohio)

Hunter spent three seasons gaining traction at Old Dominion before deciding to transfer to Ohio. He took a nice step forward as a senior, finding his role and importance with the Bobcats and opted to return for a fifth and final season. Some of the shooting numbers weren’t as impressive, but this past season was arguably another step forward for Hunter during another solid campaign by the Bobcats.

Not only was he the Bobcats’ point guard, but Hunter also stood out as their leading scorer, putting up 14.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists this past season. Even though his long-range shooting numbers slid backwards, Hunter earned Second Team All-MAC honors and led the conference in assists, finding different ways to impact the game in a major way. Hunter also ranked second in the league in steals and helped lead Ohio to 2nd place in the MAC standings.

He started the season well, including a 25-point effort against George Washington and a 21-point outing versus Brown during the Nassau Championship. A few points later he dropped 32 points in a road win against Ball State and had 23 in a critical matchup with Akron in late February. The Bobcats fell to those same Zips in the MAC Tournament despite another 17 points from Hunter, who certainly ended his collegiate career on a high note.
