Legends of NCAA basketball remain fresh in mind even years later. National champions like Carmelo Anthony and Anthony Davis won’t soon be forgotten, nor will other star players who couldn’t quite finish their careers with national glory. This sport is always giving unforgettable moments and players like that, though at the same time, it gives us far more that we tend to forget.

Every season of this sport is filled with action and it’s almost impossible to know or remember all of it even months later. We’re barely two months removed from a season that ended with Connecticut’s second straight national title and many of those stories and names have already been forgotten. With 362 D1 teams, nobody knows all the stories and all the happenings, but we’re not soon going to forget what shaped this past season.

In fact, we’re continuing to relive the glories of that past season in today’s article, the latest in a long-term series. This particular series dives into players from just last season while sorting them based on their jersey numbers. Nothing requires certain numbers to be worn by certain players and you can’t tell the best players apart based on that number. However, it provides quite a unique sorting method and has already given us plenty to think about in this series.

The focus turns towards unlucky #13; or perhaps it’s been a lucky number for the players listed today. It’s important to remember that there were many great basketball players who didn’t quite make the cut, and that includes an extensive list of honorable mentions. You may not see your favorite team’s player on each of these lists, but we’ve done our best to include those who had the best campaigns in 2023-24; who do you expect to see?
