4. Oso Ighodaro (Marquette)

Ever important, Ighodaro just completed a very strong senior season with the Golden Eagles. Early in his career he didn’t see much of the court, though that certainly changed these last two seasons. It’s no coincidence that Marquette has been a much better program these last few years as Ighodaro not only became a starter but also came into his own as one of the Big East’s best forwards.

Senior year marked the best figures of his career, as Ighodaro put up 13.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. His 58% field goal percentage was a step down from junior year, but his all-around impact was felt just as much as the Golden Eagles nabbed 2nd in a tough Big East. Those efforts also earned Ighodaro another year of Second Team All-Big East with impressive numbers across the board.

His season started brilliantly, including 13 points at Illinois and 21 against Kansas in a pair of key wins. Conference play would be filled with solid performances, including a few double-doubles and a 24-point game at Xavier to finish the regular season. Ighodaro had 20 points in the semifinals of the Big East Tournament before aiding Marquette to the Sweet Sixteen a few weeks later.
