2. Dre Davis (Seton Hall)

For the first two seasons of his career, Davis played under Chris Mack at Louisville. The Indianapolis native showed potential in those two seasons, though things didn’t exactly transpire as expected for the Cardinals. He went to the Transfer Portal in 2022 and wound up at Seton Hall. After a bench role as a junior, Davis took a major step forward with the Pirates this past season, becoming a major reason for their successful year.

Davis averaged 15.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks while making nearly half of his field goals. He blossomed and developed into a role as a top scorer for Seton Hall while also standing out as a Top 5 shot blocker in the Big East. Despite the Pirates’ 4th place finish, Davis and company couldn’t get this team to the NCAA Tournament, but he’d play well during Seton Hall’s long run at the NIT.

The first few months of Davis’s senior season were dotted with solid showings, though he really started to play hard in league play. He had 25 points and 10 rebounds in a February win over Georgetown and later had 20 against eventual national champion Connecticut. The regular season finale saw him drop 28 on measly DePaul before Davis would hit double figures in all five of the Pirates’ NIT games on their way to that tournament’s championship, including 18 points in the title game against Indiana State.
