9. Boden Skunberg (North Dakota State)

Skunberg showed plenty of promise throughout these last four seasons at North Dakota State. Staying right in his home state, he joined the Bison back in 2020 and has taken on a bigger role with each passing season. He was just a bench piece with limited impact as a freshman but has really come into his own these last two seasons, with his junior year even better than this past senior year.

Despite that slight step back, there are no complaints after averaging 14.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game with decent shooting metrics. Any complaints may stem from a 5th place finish in the Summit League for the Bison, though they were still a competitive team. Skunberg put up fine numbers and was both top scorer and top rebounder this season. He finished the season among his league’s leaders in free throw shooting, field goal percentage, and minutes played.

Senior year started fast for Skunberg, who dropped 25 points in a win at Western Michigan on the first night of the season. He’d have another 25 points in a loss against Grand Canyon and had several notable efforts during league play. Most notably, Skunberg had 14 point, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists in a clutch road win at eventual league champion South Dakota State. Though he wasn’t playing his best ball at season’s end, Skunberg will hope to build on these last few years in the MVC next year at Illinois State.
